The idea for Urbansurf was born in 2015, when the founder of Urbansurf, Serkan Pulat was visiting the US for the first time. The experience Serkan had during his stay in the US has made him realize a few points about planning activities.

1. Sometimes it is hard to meet even with your own friends either because of busy life routines or not having the same level of interest in a particular activity.
2. It can be hard to meet new people and join their activities because we don’t know about the people and their interests. We are in a situation in which we are totally unsure about the time we plan to spend with new people in an activity.
3. In bigger group activities, planning and organizing details can be tough. Smaller groups activities make all process easier and quicker. Decision making takes less time and organizing; such as; taking a taxi or finding available place/seats in a restaurant.
4. Being guided in a city by a local or exploring the city with new people is much better than exploring by yourself. While Serkan was in San Francisco, he made friends from SF and all around the world. He learned much more information about the history, culture and even the economy of the state than he would have learned on his own.

With the experience he had in the US, Serkan has started Urbansurf which is an app aiming to change the way people socialize with others.

Urbansurf showed up as a new way for people to connect with other people in any city all around the world.

In time, Urbansurf has improved itself and at the beginning of 2018, new features have been added to see nearby activities. And right now, it is expanding as a social meeting app with opportunities for people with different interests and hobbies. It does not matter if you are a local who wants to show your town or someone who is looking to know more about a new place or a digital nomad looking for make your network bigger. Urbansurf is there for you and ready to help you connect with like-minded people.

Soon, Urbansurf will introduce “like-minded algorithm” to its users. Urbansurf will change ideas such as “Meeting new people can be difficult!” or “What if we do not have anything in common and we do not like each other?” With the “like-minded algorithm”, users do not need to worry. Urbansurf will help you find new people with similar interests, hobbies, and personalities.
